Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, the governor of Makkah, is soon to announce three mega projects that will be launched around the end of this year. The three projects will serve Makkah’s strategic development plan to reduce migration to cities and make neighboring regions attractive to residents.
One of the projects is phase 4-5 of the Jeddah Seafront Development project that is going to provide an area of entertainment for Jeddah’s residents and visitors.
The other two projects are the new King Abdul Aziz International Airport and the Haramain Express Train. According to o the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the test phase of the new airport is expected to start operating in Ramadan. As for the Haramain Express Train, which is going to connect Makkah and Madinah through Jeddah and Rabigh, it will be declared open in the first quarter of 2018.
Several other important new projects have been announced for the city of Makkah recently, including the first phase of the bus project and the ongoing King Abdul Aziz Parallel Road project, which will provide a number of high-quality hotels and mosques and will be completed by the end of 2019.
